The present research work entitled “The accrual principle and its implication in the income tax in the company Los Andes SMM in 2020“ has as general objective to determine if the accrual principle influences the income tax in the company Los Andes “SMM“ in the year 2020. The company Los Andes is focused on canned products whose main activity is the sale of canned beef, chicken, bofe and turkey, which are sold to suppliers of the QALI WARMA system, as well as the acquisition of raw materials through the domestic and international markets. In this research, the relationship between the accrual principle and whether it has any implication in the income tax, through the use of different mechanisms to verify whether there is any relationship between the two variables, it should be noted that this research will determine the consequences of a misinterpretation in the accounting and tax rules, and see what are the possible consequences of a bad determination of tax obligations. With respect to its approach it was normal, the type of research is basic, with a correlational scope with a non-experimental-transversal design. The population used was 10 workers belonging to the accounting and administrative area; the total population was used for the sample. The instruments that were applied present a high reliability by means of Cronbach's alpha statistic, with a value of 0.772 and 0.789 for both variables respectively, which indicates that it is reliable and maintains a good consistency.
