The context of this research was the purchasing and sales process in a pharmaceutical company, with special emphasis on purchase planning, so its objective was to build a support system to make decisions that support purchase planning. For the development of the prediction module based on the selected algorithm, the CRISP-DM methodology was used for the construction and evaluation, and the SCRUM methodology was included for the deployment. The deployment of the model was performed based on Python and JavaScript programming languages, using the Laravel Framework, a local interface, which allows visualizing graphical reports to the end user. As for the results, for the process of developing the most appropriate prediction model to optimally estimate product turnover, neural networks were selected after a combined process of literature review and comparison with real data. It was also evidenced the achievement of 90.23% accuracy when applying a filter to eliminate sales with values close to or equal to zero in the prediction module with respect to product flow. Finally, the white and black box tests revealed the efficiency of the final interface, which is reflected in the level of usability of the system obtained through the surveys applied to the end users, who mostly expressed levels of “quite likely“ and “slightly likely“ to use the system.
