The critical review entitled Conception of death in emergency service nursing professionals, aimed to identify the conception of death in emergency service nursing professionals. Secondary research, worked with an Evidence-Based Nursing methodology. The clinical question was formulated: What is the conception of death among nursing professionals in emergency services? Using the PICOT scheme. The information search was carried out using key words (conception, death, nursing, emergency), translated into Portuguese and English, as well as synonyms in the MESH database, which allowed the information search to be expanded. Databases such as SciELo, Scopus, BVS and Pubmed were used. A total of 10 studies were selected that passed the first filter, of which only three passed validation with Gálvez Toro's guide. Finally, it was decided to review the study titled “Attitudes of nursing staff toward the death of their patients.” Finally, it was obtained that nursing professionals from the services conceive death as a natural and normal stage within the life process, influenced by daily experiences in the area where they develop, given that they face death daily. , taking an attitude of indifference when this occurs and not as a failure in care, but as a moment to save life or prolong it.
