Currently, many commercial companies experience cost overruns during their operations, through the payment of delays in their processes, temporary rentals due to lack of space, defective inventories, and additional costs due to stock outages, due to the inefficient management of their processes and the lack of knowledge in inventory management. Therefore, the present research aims to propose an improvement of inventory management in a massive products company in Lambayeque to reduce its operating costs. To do this, an initial diagnosis was made, where the root causes of its operating over chares were identified, which represented 97,95% of the income of March 2020-2021. Then, the application of a fixed-period inventory management model (Model P) was proposed, along with other improvements that allowed it to be adapted to the root causes, such as the improvement of the rearrangement of warehouses and the selection of an ERP system (Odoo). The results obtained projected the reduction of operating costs up to 95,45%, representing a saving of S/ 392 114,50; in addition to the 60% and 38,64% decrease in stock outages and inventory management costs according to revenue, respectively. Thus, showing the feasibility of this study, through an investment of S/ 31 367,60 it was possible to obtain a positive NPV of S/13 184,21, an IRR of 29,35% and a cost benefit of 1,43, with a return-on-investment period of 21 months.
