The advancement of our society and technological development have caused people to spend most of their time in sedentary behaviors in front of a screen or use motorized transportation instead of physical activity. The objective was to identify the factors that are related to physical activity in Nursing students from a private university in Chiclayo, 2022. A quantitative, nonexperimental, cross-sectional, and correlational study was carried out in 212 undergraduate Nursing students. from a particular university sampled for convenience. Data was collected using two instruments; the first included data on sociodemographic and individual factors; and physical activity was measured with the International Physical Activity Questionnaire - short version (IPAQ) (test-retest reliability of 0.88). For categorical data, proportions y x2 (Chi square) were used to establish statistical significance. Young students (mean age 20 years) predominated, female, single, without children, and who living with parents and siblings. 45.8% of Nursing students have a high level of physical activity. There is a significant relationship between the variables sex and work with physical activity. 78.3% of students spend less than 8 hours sitting down during the day. In general, full-time nursing students performed more physical activity, probably because they know about the benefits of this practice. It is important to implement strategies to maintain this health behavior.
