Students who work in the dental clinic are considered a population at risk for developing stress, because of the inherent functions performed clinical training and vocational school demanding. These stressors can decrease stimulation of salivary secretion, creating an acid and vulnerable to the formation of infectious processes means therefore important to consider the influence of academic stress in salivary pH. The object of this study was to determine the influence of academic stress level in the salivary pH of clinical students of the Professional School of Dentistry, University of Moquegua Jose Carlos Mariategui, semester academic 2015-I The research corresponds to the explanatory level without intervention, comparative and longitudinal. It was applied to a population of 52 students of VII and IX cycle. To measure the level of academic stress, it was used as an instrument a questionnaire SISCO inventory of Academic Stress and measure salivary pH, a digital potentiometer (Checker-HANNA HI 98103). The value obtained was recorded on a data collection sheet. The result showed that the highest level of stress is prevalent at the beginning and end of the academic semester, increasing from 59.6 % to 82.7 % respectively; the average found for salivary pH was 6.96 at the beginning and end of the semester falls to 6.57. According to changes in the level of stress at the beginning and end of the academic year different salivary pH values they were observed, with a tendency to decline.
