The objective of this research work is to determine the impact that labor informality has had on the economic growth of Peru, during the period 2010 - 2023. The work was of an applied type, with a quantitative and correlational approach. The sample consisted of statistical series that covered 56 quarters, from January 2010 to December 2023, using the variables of GDP, informal employment and formal employment. To analyze the impact of informal employment contrasting with the impact of formal employment on economic growth, the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) econometric method was used. Peru has shown relatively strong economic growth during the first part of the second decade of the 21st century, with a notable slowdown towards the end of said decade and a severe contraction during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020). During the years of greatest economic growth (2010-2013), a decrease in informal employment is observed, going from 77.1% to 73.7%. This can be attributed to greater formal job creation driven by economic expansion and formalization policies. Finally, the findings of this research reflect that formal employment impacts economic growth to a greater extent than informal employment, which suggests that mitigating informality and increasing and strengthening formalization will achieve a significant impact on economic growth
