This research work has been conducted with the aim of optimizing the police investigation of the DLA from drug trafficking, in Lima during 2016, having as a problem the deficient police investigation carried out by the Investigation Division of Money Laundering (DIVILA) of the National Police of Peru (PNP) in coordination with the Public Ministry. Regarding the methodology used, the research has been developed with the qualitative-quantitative approach; Interviews were conducted with the Director of Asset Laundering NPP, Chief of the Money Laundering Division, the oldest Sub- Officer of the aforementioned Police Division and the Investigative Investigator of Money Laundering. Likewise, an evaluation questionnaire was developed for the personnel that provide services in the Money Laundering Directorate from drug trafficking, equal to 40 police officers. Non-probabilistic sample; for the analysis, deductive reasoning was applied, considering the knowledge and empirical reality of the problem, the analysis of similar situations in other Latin American or European countries with similar characteristics to our reality; in addition, documentary analysis has been carried out and the burden of tax records and complaints recorded for this crime has been assessed; We have made the hypothesis contrast using Pearson's Chi Square-Goodness of Independence. It has been established that the Decentralization of DIVILA, with trained and specialized personnel, with experience, will allow a frontal and national struggle against this criminal offense; it is necessary to reorganize the personnel administration, identifying the needs and priorities of each police region
