The objective of this study was to investigate the ethical position of the Peruvian social entrepreneur, taking in consideration the theory developed by Carol Gilligan of the ethics of care. For this purpose, a qualitative methodology of thematic analysis was used. Three major themes were identified: Social reflection and taking action, Synergies for development and Caregivers training caregivers. These themes explain the process in which social entrepreneurs become aware of an inequitable social reality and take action on it seeking to generate a social impact that benefits everyone. And taking everyone in consideration. Likewise, they want this change to arise from those who are affected by this problem, generating changes from within the social structures. Throughout this process, their logic is based on care and attention to needs of those involved and themselves. The results open the possibility of moving toward a complex understanding of the notion of theory of care proposed because these stages could be part of the process that is repeated once again as social entrepreneurs achieve their objective. Finally, it is exposed that this logic must be driven from the educational space, through teaching of a “responsible” citizenship, which values both social and environmental well-being.
