The results of the ECE test (2018) show that, in the competition related to the Geometry area, there are difficulties in relating the properties of geometric shapes and their measurable attributes. Given this, the search for educational resources that support the teaching-learning process to address this problem is proposed (Mora, 2022). In this line, in the present study soccer is analyzed as a didactic resource to favor the achievement of geometric thinking levels, in sixth grade students in an educational institution in Metropolitan Lima. In this regard, two specific objectives were considered: to describe the students' perceptions of soccer as a resource to favor the progress of geometric thinking levels and to describe the levels of geometric thinking that students achieve through the application of soccer as a teacher's resource. The methodology of the study is a qualitative approach and at a descriptive level. Therefore, it was considered to apply a survey to the students and the documentary analysis of their learning evidence in three learning sessions. In this way, the design of the questionnaire and the documentary analysis matrix will allow us to collect information relevant to the investigation. The main findings allow us to conclude that soccer can be considered as a didactic resource by students and that it can favor the achievement of levels of geometric thinking, as long as certain factors are considered, such as previous knowledge, proximity to soccer and the level of abstraction required at each level.
