The present study aimed to analyze the comments of Facebook users about NEETs in Peru to understand what social representations are built around this population. For this purpose, a qualitative study was developed based on a thematic analysis design. Regarding the main findings, it was found that social representations about NEETs mainly revolve around negative stereotypes and are delivered with a hostile discourse. In addition, dispositional representations appeared through which users explain the behaviors of NEETs based on their characteristics, which leads to blaming only this group for their situation. Likewise, situational representations emerged through which netizens explain the behavior of NEETs based on the circumstances in which they live, such as poor parenting, informal work, precarious working conditions, little support from the State, etc.
