Play is one of the most important activities in people's lives. Schools offer game based activities and experiences, therefore in the current context of distance education this dynamic must be maintained at home. It is then that the need arises to know the opinion of parents about play and learning since they will be the ones who accompany their children in this process. The general objective of this research is to analyze the perceptions of parents about play-based learning process of five-year-old children in the context of distance education of a public kinder school in Cercado de Lima. Furthermore, its specific objectives are to characterize the play-based learning of 5- year-old children and describe the perceptions of parents about play in distance learning. This research has a qualitative approach, at a descriptive level and makes use of the survey method. The results of the research were obtained from the analysis and interpretation of the information collected through a survey applied to parents. Finding shows that parents identify play as a learning strategy for their children, especially in language and literacy. In addition, they recognize a playful and learning value in graphic-plastic activities.
