In this article we will analyze two teaching approaches named as transmissionist and socioconstructivist. Understanding the transmissionist approach as a dimension in which teachers have an active role during the teaching-learning process and students a passive role. In addition, teachers would fulfill the role of transmitting knowledge and concepts that have been established over the years. On the other hand, the socio-constructivist approach would focus on the fact that teachers will not only transmit knowledge, but in doing so, will offer students a space to questioning and reflection. Therefore, both would have an active role within the teaching-learning process. Looking inside the practices at the specialty of Theatre, in the Faculty of Performing Arts in the PUCP, we can find that they correspond both approaches. In this understanding, we will be introducing an analysis, by collecting information form authors such as Pease, Barberán, Castro, Durán and others, also will be adding a theacher´s interview. The intention is to reflect these approaches within the coexistence between teacher-student at the mentioned specialty in order to contribute towards an ethical coexistence, so that the stutends feel a safe space whitin the teaching-learning process.
