In the current context, where the majority of information is available on the internet, it is necessary for university students to develop informational competencies with the support of the university library. For this reason, this research aims to describe the perceptions of undergraduate students from a private university in Lima regarding the contribution of the training provided by the library in strengthening their informational competencies in the digital realm. Being a qualitative research with a phenomenological design, a structured interview is applied based on two international evaluation models: the European Framework for Digital Competence for Citizenship (DigComp) and the Information and Communication Technology Standards for Students (NETS-S). The results are structured according to three subcategories: competence in searching, managing, analyzing, and ethically using information. These subcategories are related to the content taught in the library trainings. From the participants' responses, it is concluded that the trainings positively contribute to the development of the interviewees' informational competencies, especially in the ethical use of information, which includes topics such as the correct use of the APA (American Psychological Association) citation style. However, there are indicators such as the limited use of the Mendeley bibliographic manager, comments on the difficulty of applying some elements of advanced search strategies, and the complexity of using the Scopus database for document analysis, for which some suggestions are detailed.
