This research is framed within the problem of the teaching of mathematics in the training of future engineers. To address this problem, the relationship between the mathematics taught and the engineering courses are investigated. To this end, the identification and analysis of praxeology in the intermediate discipline of digital image processing are carried out. In addition, the general objective is to analyze the Hough transform for the design of a didactic device defined in the paradigm of questioning the world, which allows mechatronics engineering students to develop mathematical modeling activities that relate some elements of digital image processing and the first courses of mathematics. To achieve this objective, elements of the Anthropological Theory of Didactics have been taken into account, in particular the extended praxeological model proposed by Castela. The theoretical framework has made it possible to study the institutions involved in engineering education, analyze praxeology, and then formulate the proposal of a didactic device involving modeling activities. The methodology used in the research is based on previous works by Macias, Romo Vázquez, Siero, and others. It consists of two phases, which are related to the preliminary analysis, the design of the study and research path, and the a priori analysis of the didactic engineering. As result, we mention: the analysis of the epistemological referents of the Hough transform in the institution of the Digital Image Processing discipline, the identification, and analysis of the mixed praxeology within this discipline both of production and teaching. This served as a basis for determining the Praxeology mixed of the Hough Transform. Finally, considering the context of mechatronic engineering, a generative question was formulated that allowed, through a priori analysis, to propose a possible Study and Research Path around the Hough Transform.
