In this sense, the study aims analyze the importance of emotional intelligence in initial teacher training - FID in the context of higher educational training. The methodology used was a qualitative approach (Hernández, et., 2016), bibliographic design or literature review (Sánchez, et al., 2020). In addition, a systematic process of investigation, collection, organization, analysis and interpretation of information sources was carried out in a given time to develop an argument and constructive criticism with its valuable conclusions. It is concluded that emotional intelligence -EI is key to the success of FID due to the positive skills that are acquired in intrapersonal and interpersonal training such as: the capacity for empathy, the capacity for emotional self-regulation, the capacity for non-verbal communication. and the assertive ability to manage conflicts inside and outside the school classrooms. Also, the following points have been demonstrated in educational research in the FID: 1. Incorporate emotional intelligence in regular education in the FID for a successful comprehensive education of the future teacher, 2. Personal training tools in skills and abilities are important of emotional intelligence in FID in order to face, regulate, control and realize the media circumstances that schools of this millennium are experiencing.
