The present investigation is a systematic study of a single case of a patient with depressive symptomatology in a process of brief psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The objective was to identify and describe relational patterns and internal conflicts, how both Axes and depressive symptomatology are related to each other. The clinical material consisted of the relational episodes of the first three sessions, the CCRT-LU-S method was applied for their identification; and from them, we proceeded to conceptualize the Axis II Relationship and Axis III Conflict of the OPD-2. The results show three dysfunctional relational patterns in the consultant, which include the need to over-adapt, to hold back and at the same time, to lean on, hold on and reproach or blame, tending to perceive that the other neglects or abandons her. On the other hand, she also disqualified herself when she perceived a demand from others. The conflicts were related with an ambivalence in their relationship with others. The most significant conflicts were Desire for protection and care versus Self-sufficiency and Selfassessment.
