Some of the environmental issues that affect the human being and urban city planning are the climate change, pollution and limited access to drinking water. In the last decade, this situation has led the intensified use of ecofriendly technologies in the buildings of various cities around the world with aim to minimize its impact. The present research paper aims to describe the importance of use of water ecotechnologies for the environment, the economy and society, focusing the analysis on green roof ecotechnologies and wastewater treatment. Understanding the current use of both ecotechnologies, green roof and wasterwater treatment, and its aplication considering the climate conditions and the base estructure of the buildings, allow us to understand the benefits of its use and the limitations they face when applied to homes in Lima city. The research methodology had a qualitative approach. The information was collected through a specialized search for related literature on sustainable ecotechnologies used for water, delving into the use of green roof ecotechnologies and wastewater treatment. Subsequently, open interviews with professionals specialized in sustainable constructions, were used as a validation tool for this research. The resulting information was analyzed using the content analysis technique. It is expected that the outcome of the reserch will serve as basis for future work aimed at sustainable urban development whose implementation ensures a better future in coexistence for people, the community and the environment. The results of the research highlighted the feasibility of implementing both ecotechnologies in new projects and existing housing in Lima Metropolitana. Also, it was found that their application contributes to mitigate the negative impact generated by the lack of green areas, the shortage of potable water, air pollution and climate problems in the city of Lima throught conjoin work with city halls and the private sector by promoting the implementation of ecotecnologies of wastewater treatment for the irrigation of green roofs.
