In Peru, there is a high number of hospitalized children and adolescents. In response to the needs arising from hospitalization, Hospital Pedagogy has been promoted and developed in different countries. This conceives the child and adolescent as a whole and global person and seeks to ensure that they do not remain in the passivity of the disease. From an integral health perspective, the field of study on how the arts can contribute to the quality of life, inclusion and wellbeing of people is recent. Establishing different positions on the functions of art and the impact that participation in them brings. In 2020, law regulations were approved in Peru to begin implementing the hospital educational service. Therefore, the following research with a qualitative approach and at an exploratory-descriptive level is proposed to respond to the following problem: What is the role attributed to art in the context of hospital classrooms of the Aprendo Contigo Program with pediatric oncology patients at INEN? Among the main discoveries, it was found that the interviewees have a positive perception of the social, psychological and physiological benefits of working from the arts in this context. They attribute a therapeutic, pedagogical and humanizing function to arts. However, it is observed that this importance attributed to the arts remains theoretical and is not optimally implemented. The research found that there are possible limitations that may hinder work stemming from the arts in the hospital context in Peru.
