This literature review aims at gathering available research on various strategies for fostering social skills in secondary school students and propose the most relevant strategies for our context. Following the guidelines of PRISMA 2020, five academic databases were consulted, initially yielding 145 scientific reports published between 2017 and 2021. After a four-stage selection process, eight relevant scientific articles were included in this study for their empirical information. The findings of this systematic review indicate that three strategies showed to be suitable for utilization by secondary education institutions in our context: digital learning materials, the video game Minecraft, and the Guy Talk program. Furthermore, five components have shown to have an impact on the effectiveness of teaching social skills to secondary education students: the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), the implementation of playful learning approaches, the adoption of gender and psychosocial development perspectives, the delineation of program structure and content, and the assessment of social skills through the utilization of standardized tools
