In March 2020, COVID-19 generated a global health, economic and social crisis, from which we are still recovering. As for the cultural sector, the lockdown caused cultural venues to close their doors and activities to come to a standstill sine die. In this context, around thirty professional associations of the performing arts and music sector in Spain came together to face this situation and ensure that the agents that make up the sector were not left unprotected. This Professional Supporting Work aims to systematise the cultural management strategies used by these associations in the implementation of cultural policies for sustaining, developing and improving the conditions of the performing arts and music sector in Spain, in the context of the coronacrisis. For this, the first chapter contextualises the reader through a brief historical summary and explanation of the structure and functioning of the performing arts sector in Spain. Then, in chapter 2, the strategies and actions carried out by the sectorial associations in Spain between March 2020 and March 2022 are dealt with. The main learning from this experience is that, if we work together, put aside our particular interests and focus on the common good, we will work better, become stronger and achieve better results.
