The purpose of this article is to analyze the conventionality of the measure of placing trans-inclusive posters in the bathrooms of the Jorge Chávez International Airport. In this sense, the article is composed of four subchapters: first, the recent situation of the trans community in Latin America will be analyzed, emphasizing the violence exercised against this community and the gradual recognition of rights in some countries such as Argentina and Chile; secondly, the constitutionally protected content of the rights to the free development of personality and gender identity will be developed, for which doctrinal and jurisprudential analysis, both national and international, will be used; thirdly, the binding nature of the Advisory Opinions of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights will be questioned and the content of Advisory Opinion 24/17 will be developed; Finally, the control of conventionality will be carried out to the measure using as a basis what has been developed in the previous subchapters. As a main conclusion, we affirm that placing trans-inclusive posters outside the airport bathrooms is consistent with what has been developed by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in relation to the defense of the rights of the trans community and that, in addition, it is the most suitable measure for such protection.
