This paper is framed in a regional and national context of scarcity of academic research - in the field of social sciences - on animal movements and the ways in which they are configured. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the situation of one of the mentioned gaps: animalist NGOs. In this sense, the topic designated for the research is the organizational sustainability of these entities in Metropolitan Lima. Likewise, it is proposed to study the mentioned topic from the perspective of organizational sociology, in order to analyze the sustainability strategies applied by these organizations to achieve their goals. Based on this, the main objective of the research is to analyze the factors and mechanisms that ensure the organizational sustainability of animal NGOs in Metropolitan Lima, also establishing three secondary objectives. First, to identify the key organizational structure to achieve the desired results of the mentioned NGOs. Secondly, to know the resources and/or capitals that contribute to their organizational sustainability. Finally, to analyze and explain the relationship of external stakeholders and the sustainability of animal nonprofit organizations. Theoretically, this research considers Mintzberg's management models, as well as the different ways in which resources, capitals and mechanisms can be used to successfully explain the sustainable management of a nonprofit organization. In addition, it is worth mentioning that the theories and concepts used in this study have not been previously applied to the investigation of organizational sustainability of animal NGOs; therefore, this work hopes to open the interest of other social scientists in this topic.
