This thesis project seeks to establish a guide on the way to discovering the vocation of young people who are about to graduate from secondary educational institutions, the same ones who face at such a young age one of the main decisions of their lives, and is to choose a professional career. This determination causes doubts and anxiety in the adolescent, which triggers, in most cases that they resort to the experience of third parties or references. Having identified this problem, we have designed a competency-based program, which seeks through sessions in which successful professionals in their field convey their future to students in an experiential way, showing them the real and potential performance of each career or trade for which they feel interest. As part of the development of the project, the main key activities have been determined, which are divided into two phases: analysis of competencies and experiential experience. The business model proposes having as main allies the secondary level educational institutions and the professional specialists of each workplace. The viability of the participation of these actors is supported by a feasibility and desirability analysis, which were carried out on 30 managers of private educational institutions in metropolitan Lima and 50 professionals who work in different areas. A study carried out in Peru by INSAN Consultores (2017) reveals that 30% of desertion in higher studies corresponds to the lack of vocation in the professional career, a factor linked to discontent and lack of motivation in their vision or professional projection. Likewise, 25% of the students abandon their career because the training received does not meet their expectations. At this point, the lack of information about the professions plays a decisive role, since thousands of young people choose a specialty of which they know little or nothing, which makes the choice practically “blind”.
