The present study aimed to explore the relationships between symbolic violence, minority stress and perceived social support in transgender women, trans-femenine and travesti individuals in Lima and Callao. For this purpose, a mixed methodology was carried out. The first study adopted a qualitative approach; therefore, interviews took place in order to explore the manifestations of symbolic violence through participants’ speeches and experiences. Results show the predominance of six psychological processes involved in the positive disposition towards heteronormativity. The second study acquired a quantitative methodology (n = 55), and highlighted direct relationships between the majority of the subdimensions of the studied constructs. In addition, the obtained results show that the participants who experience a greater impact of symbolic violence are those older, catholic, with a lower access to education and non-articulated ones.
