futuros estudios.
The purpose of this research was to study the possible relationships between personality traits and health behaviors in a group of university students from a private university in Lima Metropolitan. The participants were 99 students of both sexes between 16 and 22 years old (M= 18.27; DE= 2.08). A secondary objective of the investigation was to describe whether relationships exist between the study variables and socio-demographic variables. The student´s personality traits were measured using the NEOFFI (Costa y McCrae, 1992) and health behaviors were evaluated using the CEVJU adaptation of Chau y Saravia (2014). In regard to the objectives of this research, the results showed that neuroticism correlates inversely and small with sleep organization (r = -. 27; p <0.01), as well as consciousness directly and small correlates with sleep organization (r = .28; p <0.01). In addition, significant differences were found between neuroticism and agreeableness in relation to sex. As well, that extraversion is inversely related to the student's age (r = -.30, p <0.01). Possible explanations of the results found are discussed, as well as their relevance, limitations of the investigation are reported and recommendations for future studies are given.
