Abstract: STEAM es un constructo en formación que agrupa los conocimientos de las
Ciencias, Tecnología, Ingeniería y Matemática. Suma la A para distinguir a las Artes,
las cuales aportan la cuota creativa en el proceso de aprendizaje. Sus aportes en el
ámbito educativo han sido estudiados por investigadores de países como China,
Australia, EE. UU., España, México, Colombia, entre otros. En la presente
investigación, se parte de la pregunta: ¿Cuáles son los aportes del enfoque STEAM
a la Educación Secundaria, que se documentaron en artículos de revistas
indexadas, entre los años 2011 a 2021? Asimismo, a través del enfoque cualitativo
y la investigación documental, se describe la categoría “Aportes de STEAM”. Para
la selección y revisión de las fuentes secundarias, se aplicó un muestreo selectivo,
intencional o a juicio del investigador. Luego de revisar la información, se concluye
que identificar los fundamentos de STEAM permite comprender su importancia. A
su vez, identificar los aportes de STEAM a la didáctica permite conocer cómo se
entrelazan los enfoques pedagógicos, metodologías activas y recursos didácticos.
Finalmente, se muestra su rol catalizador en la comunidad académica y el amplio
debate que se suscita para determinar su naturaleza y los aportes a la didáctica de
la Educación Secundaria, en tanto se propone como un objetivo político que
contribuye al cierre de brechas sociales y garantiza los aprendizajes en las áreas
curriculares que componen STEAM.
STEAM is a construct in formation that groups the knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Add the A to distinguish the Arts, which contribute the creative share in the learning process. His contributions in the educational field have been studied by researchers from countries such as China, Australia, USA, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, among others. In the present investigation, we start from the question: What are the contributions of the STEAM approach to Secondary Education, which were documented in articles of indexed magazines, between the years 2011 to 2021? Likewise, through the qualitative approach and documentary research, the category “STEAM Contributions“ is described. For the selection and revision of the secondary sources, a selective, intentional or investigator's judgment sampling was applied. After reviewing the information, it is concluded that identifying the fundamentals of STEAM allows us to understand its importance. In turn, identifying the contributions of STEAM to didactics allows knowing how pedagogical approaches, active methodologies and didactic resources are intertwined. Finally, its catalytic role in the academic community and the broad debate that arises to determine its nature and contributions to the didactics of Secondary Education are shown, as it is proposed as a political objective that contributes to closing social gaps and guarantees learning in the curricular areas that make up STEAM.
