In the present work, the relevant social problem of scarcity of housing alternatives in the NSE C and D of Peru has been studied; identifying that families do not have the basic conditions to be able to live in comfort, in a dignified and safe manner. The factors that determine this deficit are mainly financial and a lack of material options for construction that adapt to the living conditions of the users. Faced with the problem, the product called “Self-constructible modular social interest housing with Lego-type plastic wood blocks“ has been designed, whose purpose is to satisfy the housing needs of the target segment; with an investment of no more than S/17,499 for a 40 m2 predesigned module. The business model has a circular economy approach; since, for the elaboration of the blocks, a 100% ecological product will be used, such as plastic wood, a material that comes from the recycling of plastic and vegetable fiber; therefore, it will generate a positive impact on the consumption chain, contribute to Sustainable Development Goals 1, 9, 11 and 13 and the rational use of non-renewable resources. It is also considered a model with a socially responsible approach; since, companies will be able to grant dry toilets to families that do not have a sanitation system, in exchange for their plastic and wood waste. A NPV of S/ 5,795933, an IRR of 148% and a total gross margin of S/3,695,791 have been calculated for the fifth year after the start-up of the business in a conservative scenario. These factors make it economically viable and with great growth potential. The self-constructing modular low-income housing with Lego-type plastic wood blocks is presented as an innovative and disruptive solution, with responsible care for the environment and society.
