Andimetal S.A.C. is a Peruvian company, part of a conglomerate of companies, dedicated to the mining industry, which began operations in 2015, as a result of an internal restructuring of this mining group. In this way, Andimetal assumes the role of providing services to mining units; dedicated to the commercialization, processing, refining and production of precious metals, such as gold and silver. One of the key activities carried out by Andimetal is the treatment and storage of accumulated mining tailings as a result of mining activity. Currently, the company complies with current regulations for tailings treatment; however, in its constant search to implement innovative processes and contribute to environmental and social care, Andimetal has the responsibility of developing sustainable operations that generate value for the company and the environment where the company operates. The objective of this thesis is to provide Andimetal a solution to an environmental, social and economic impact that today is caused by the accumulation of tailings and, at the same time, to capture value for its partners against the competition, under a social and environmental framework. For this objective, an analysis was carried out where it is proposed to create a new business unit that is in charge of the treatment, reuse and transformation of the tailings for the manufacture of concrete blocks for the construction sector. It is estimated that the execution of this project will have a duration of 11 months, an initial investment of S/ 2.6 million and a recovery period of 21 months. In addition, Andimetal would be contributing to six Sustainable Development Goals with the implementation of this project.
