This thesis arises from the concern about the negative effect of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic on the emotions of preschool children. World's governments implemented various measures to counteract the effects, programmes were developed and different strategies and techniques were used to help children, mindfulness being one of the most widely used and implemented. The aim of the following research is to analyse two mindfulness programmes to manage the emotions of preschool children. Also to analyse the conceptual foundations of emotional intelligence and its path to the Socioemotional Education proposal, to describe the criteria based on the author Pérez- González to demonstrate how effective a mindfulness programme applied to education is, and to describe the central components of the two effective mindfulness programmes and their relationship with the management of emotions. The methodology used was documentary, analysing the North American MindUP and Mindful Schools programmes, their benefits, components and the results of studies on their evaluation. After the analysis carried out, it was concluded that both programmes are effective in relation to the development of emotion management in children, helping them to recognise the transience and corporeality of emotions, their relationship with their thoughts and feelings, teaching them emotional regulation techniques to live in the here and now and helping them to socialise assertively with their environment, thus creating a positive multiplier effect where empathy prevails.
