Abstract: La Cooperativa Agraria Norandino Ltda. fue formada en 1990.
Cooperativa Agraria Norandino Ltd was formed in 1990. It belongs to the agro-export sector, and it is one of the most important cooperatives in the country; the first exporter of raw cane sugar at a national scale, and it is among the most important in cocoa and coffee. Business Consulting Group performed an analysis of the current situation of Cooperativa Agraria Norandino, together with the vice-president of the organization, Juan De La Cruz, and the administrator, Carlos Neyra. The finding of the analysis was that the main problem that they have at the coffee-producing organization is the over-demand of coffee and the low export supply, mainly because the 3,800 coffee-grower associates have a low productivity; their average yield is of 14.65 quintals per hectare. The diagnosis found that this is due to the low capacities and technical skills of the coffee growers. At a later time, an analysis and some procedures were performed in order to identify possible solutions to the issues concerning the training and the development of the coffee growers’ technical skills. As a result, the implementation of a virtual platform was suggested, a platform that will be useful for providing training courses by means of videos with a technical content related to the whole management of the coffee productive chain. This virtual platform will be for the exclusive use of the coffee growers of the Norandino cooperative, where they will be able to use their smartphones as a technological tool for such training. The implementation and startup of this platform will take six months. Likewise, the impact indicators will be visible from the first year of its implementation, which will enable analyzing and adopting improving mechanisms for the use of the new technological training system for the coffee producers. The implementation and operation of this virtual platform will have a cost of S/ 60,500.
