Mandatory isolation involved many changes. University students, for example, had to get adapted to virtual class sessions. Likewise, companies started to implement home- office. It became almost impossible to separate personal and academic or workspace. The strong effects COVID-19 had, especially due to the measures taken to combat it, meant that we became more aware of the need to take care of ourselves and each other, and pay attention to our integral well-being: physical, psychological, and social. From the information we recollected, we identified that university students consider it extremely important to maintain a balance between these aspects of their lives, but most of them do not reach it. Likewise, we found that a vast majority fall into over-effort practices, which we define as those that seek to achieve academic success but, in the process, damage some sphere of their overall health. These practices are also justified and legitimized but themselves and by their environment. Due to this context, it is important that young adults develop skills to be able to face different daily situations in academic and professional fields. The present investigation presents the stages of diagnosis, design, and execution of pilot activities of the project “bien+estar”. The project is based on a human-centered design strategy, making use of interviews and focus groups, as well as workshops and meetings for the activities. This resulted in common spaces in which our public felt comfortable to share their experiences and testimonios, which allowed learning and the co-creation of more activities and strategies.
