This research addresses the emotional strategies and acting tools that a group of students of Theatre at the Faculty of Performing Arts of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú use to deal with stress during the creative process in the courses Introducción a la Actuación 2 y Actuación 2. This is a case study made from interviews to students, through which we intend to identify the stressors that young people have been exposed to in these courses, the personal development of each one of the students in both semesters and the acting tools they use to cope with stress. In order to contribute our research with the academic perspective, three teachers were also interviewed. The research comes from the need to analyze and delve into the stress of the actor, since we deem that the mental health of the Theatre student plays a pivotal role in the optimal personal and artistic performance in the creative process. In this way, we respond the main question: How do the theater students of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú face stress within the courses of Introduction to Acting 1 and Acting 2? In that spirit, through the interviews obtained, our research findings were as follow: the acting tools that our student subjects employed were physical actions, rhythms of effort, the elements of nature in neutral mask, the viewpoints, la diana, the repetition technique and he personal dance.
