The present research was developed in Trujillo, at the Universidad Privada del Norte, the state of conservation of the flexible pavement was analyzed through the standard of the pavement condition index (PCI) and a new flexible pavement design AASTHO 93 was proposed, in the Puerto Argentino street and Los Aguanos street of La Rinconada Urbanization, Trujillo 2021, a non-experimental design - descriptive cross-sectional design was used, the sampling was non-probabilistic for convenience, data collection was carried out through the observation technique and also the documentary review, the instrument used was the observation guide, in addition to the data sheet; Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data, the problem is that the streets with asphalt pavement roads in Trujillo have different types of faults (cracks) for the reason that they lack studies to perceive their state of conservation and this causes risk to human lives because we are in an area of high transport traffic, among the most found faults in the pavement we have: longitudinal and transverse cracks, holes, patches and crocodile skin, the state of conservation of the flexible pavement was determined by finding a PCI of 41, and we can point out that the pavement in general is in a state. On the other hand, a soil mechanics study was carried out where the CBR value of the soil could be obtained, which will allow us to determine the modulus of resilience to later determine a structural number (SNR) and that this finally helps us to establish the thicknesses of each layer of the flooring, these being 5cm for the surface layer, 15cm for the base and 15cm for the sub-base, thus obtaining the design of the flexible AASTHO 93 flooring with a total thickness of 35cm.
