The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between academic burnout and the adaptation into university life in a sample of 175 a first year students of the careers of initial, primary and secondary education. Stratified probabilistic sampling was used and the instruments used to measure the variables were the adaptation of Pérez et al. (2012) of the Maslach Burnout Inventory for students and the adaptation of Marquez, Ortiz and Rendon (2008) of the academic experiences questionnaire QVAR. The research results showed that there is no significant relation between academic burnout and adaptation into university life. However, weak and moderate correlation was found between some of the dimensions of both variables. A low level of academic burnout and an average level of adaptation into university life were also found.
