The present research work is carried out in the company Coansa del Perú Ingenieros S.A.C., cajamarquina company that is dedicated to the mining and construction sector. The general objective of the study was to design a maintenance plan focused on reliability (RCM) in the 336DL hydraulic excavator fleet to reduce repair costs in the company Coansa del Perú Ingenieros S.A.C. To achieve the aforementioned objective, a diagnosis of the Maintenance area was first made to know the factors that generate delays and repair costs in the 336DL hydraulic excavators; Likewise, the maintenance indicators were evaluated in order to implement improvements that help reduce repair costs and at the same time allow the company to rely on reliable equipment. According to the results obtained, a maintenance plan focused on reliability has been designed, thus allowing the company to comply with the maintenance plan at 100%, increase the average operative time to failure by 74%, decrease the frequency of failures by 40%, reduce the average time out of service by 22%, increase mechanical availability by 5.4%, reduce maintenance costs by 18% and reduce the costs of unavailability due to failures in a 62 %. The financial evaluation for the implementation of the maintenance plan focused on reliability (RCM), allowed us to know the viability of the project, obtaining a NPV of S /. 99,620.46, a TIR of 71%, a WACC of 13% with a profitability index of S /. 1.56.
