Estrategias de afrontamiento y madurez psicológica en estudiantes de nivel secundario de una institución educativa nacional del distrito de Trujillo

Abstract

RESUMEN El objetivo de la presente investigación fue establecer la relación entre las estrategias de afrontamiento y las dimensiones de madurez psicológica en estudiantes de nivel secundario de una institución educativa nacional del distrito de Trujillo. La muestra se obtuvo a través de un procedimiento probabilístico estratificado evaluándose a 103 estudiantes del nivel secundario a quienes se les aplicó la Escala de Estrategias de Afrontamiento en Adolescentes – ACS (Frydenberg y Lewis 2000, adaptado por Angulo, 2012) que permitió encontrar las estrategias de afrontamiento más predominantes en los estudiantes de nivel secundario y el cuestionario de Madurez Psicológica PSYMAS (Morales, Camps y Lorenzo, 2010 Adaptado por Arana 2014) para medir sus niveles de madurez psicológica. Los resultados evidenciaron que existe una correlación positiva y altamente significativa entre las estrategias de afrontamiento y la escala de orientación al trabajo, se obtuvo una correlación positiva y altamente significativa entre las estrategias de afrontamiento (fijarse en lo positivo y buscar apoyo espiritual) y la escala de identidad, por otro lado se encontró una correlación negativa y altamente significativa entre las estrategias (falta de afrontamiento, reducción de tensión, autoinculparse y reservarlo para sí mismo) y la escala de identidad, además se obtuvo una relación negativa y altamente significativa en el área de Autonomía. ABSTRACT The objective of the present investigation was to establish the relationship between the coping strategies and the dimensions of psychological maturity in students of highschool level from a national educative institution in Trujillo district. The sample was obtained through a stratified probabilistic procedure, evaluating 103 students of the secondary level who were applied the Adolescents Coping Scale - ACS (Frydenberg and Lewis 2000, adapted by Angulo, 2012) that allowed to find the most prevalent coping strategies in secondary school students and the Psychological Maturity Assessment Scale PSYMAS (Morales, Camps and Lorenzo, 2010 Adapted by Arana 2014) to measure their levels of psychological maturity. The results evidenced that there is a positive and highly significant correlation between coping strategies and work orientation scale. A positive and highly significant correlation was found between the coping strategies (focus on the positive and seek spiritual support) and identity scale; on the other hand, a negative and highly significant correlation was found between the strategies (not coping, tension reduction, self-blame and keep to self) and identity scale, furthermore a negative and highly significant relation was obtained in the area of autonomy.
