The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and aggressiveness in soldiers of an Infantry Battalion in Cajamarca. The research was of non-experimental, quantitative and correlational design; since it seeks to find the relationship between the study variables. The sample used was composed of 132 male soldiers from an infantry battalion, whose ages ranged from 18 to 23 years old. The BarOn Ice Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire, adult version, and the Buss and Perry Aggressiveness Questionnaire were used for the evaluation, both of which presented acceptable validity and reliability. After performing the correlation analysis between the variables, a p-value of .921 (p>0.05) was obtained, which indicates that there is no correlation between emotional intelligence and aggressiveness. When correlating the components of emotional intelligence and aggressiveness and vice versa, significant data were found; for the most part, the components are not related, however, in the case of the adaptability and aggressiveness component a p value of .037 (p<0.05), in the case of the physical aggressiveness and emotional intelligence component, a p value of .109 (p<0.05) and the anger component with emotional intelligence a p value of .979 (p<0.05), which indicates that there is a relationship between these components of the variables.
