The main objective of this research was to determine the relationship between the management of emotional intelligence and the work performance of the employees of the company Autonort Cajamarca, during the pandemic stage in the year 2021. The design used was non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational. The sample consisted of 80 collaborators, selected from a total population of 101 workers of the aforementioned company. The information collected through a survey, using for the first variable, a questionnaire composed of 26 items that collect the four dimensions formulated by Goleman (1999); and for the second variable, and the Work Performance Scale originally created by Koopmans et al. (2013) translated into Spanish by Gabini and Salessi (2016). The reliability of both was determined for this study by applying the Crombach coefficient, obtaining as a result a value of .968 and .812, which shows that they are highly reliable. The results show the existence of a moderate positive relationship between emotional intelligence and work performance in the company studied when obtaining the Rho statistic=.690; and, the p value=0.000<0.01 shows that said relationship is significant, proving the research hypothesis. Similarly, the relationship between the dimensions of self-awareness ability (Rho=.589; p=0.000<0.01), self-control ability (Rho=.684; p=0.000<0.01), empathy ability (Rho= .659; p=0.000<0.01) and social skills (Rho=.687; p=0.000<0.01) with the work performance of the collaborators surveyed. In all these cases, positive, moderate and significant, verifying the specific hypotheses that operationalized the respective objectives.
