ABSTRACT This work had as general objective the implementation of a suction system based on Lean Manufacturing in the extrusion process to increase production capacity in a company producing aquaculture balanced food. The problem actually observed evidence that the bottleneck of the production process is the mixing dosing area, which is affected by constant stops by obstructions in formulation complementing low deliverability of batch mixing. The above causes in the next step of the process (extrusion) timeouts also originate by reformatting (Lack of mixture) and a limitation in terms of its production capacity Product analysis of the problematic reality a suction system , which eliminates downtime by atoros in formulation and can increase the deliverability of batch mixing was implemented. This, coupled with lean techniques applied VSM , which allowed the mapping of activities that do not generate value before and after the problem ; SMED , which allowed the reduction of time for format changes in extrusion ; TPM , providing OEE indicators and availability associated with the training program intake system and Andon , which warned by visual signals the operator to abnormal situations that allow taking necessary corrective measures, allowed to increase the production capacity by 33%, reduce time 210.44 reformatting minutes to 38.47 minutes, increasing availability in dosage of 88 % to 95% and extrusion 77 % to 79% , increase OEE from 60 to 71% and capitalize monthly savings $ 120.979.73.
