The objective was to determine the effectiveness of the educational intervention in the level of knowledge and attitudes towards cervical cancer in mothers who attend the soup kitchen program in a district of Metropolitan Lima, January – February 2020. The methodology: A quantitative, descriptive, quasi-experimental cross-sectional study was carried out on a population of 40 mothers, there was no sampling since the entire population was determined. The results indicate in the case of knowledge 55% of the regular level, followed by 42.5% with a low level in the pretest, while in the post test it had a high level of 87.5% and a regular level of 12, 5%. For the attitudes variable in the pre-test, 52.5% had a negative attitude and in the post-test the attitude reached 100%. The Student's t-test shows that the effectiveness of the educational intervention in the level of knowledge and attitudes towards cervical cancer was significant, since it presented a p value of 0.000 in mothers of families from the popular dining room. In conclusion, the educational intervention had a positive effect on the level of knowledge and attitudes towards cervical cancer in mothers who attend the soup kitchen program in a district of metropolitan Lima, January – February 2020.
