ABSTRACT The following thesis intends to implement a tribology program focused on reliability (RCT), which disseminates the concept of tribology applied to maintenance activities, based on reliability engineering tools to detect incipient faults and prevent their development in major faults. The equipment improves productivity by optimizing tribological processes through the reduction of PC4000 blade blades. The research work is carried out in the province of Sechura in the open-pit mining operation owned by Minera MISKI MAYO. External factors such as the low international prices of phosphoric rock, as well as internal factors such as the maturity of the life cycle of the mining equipment inside, the loss of production by recurrent lubrication-related failures has been affecting productivity negatively This is why, for the development of the research, a criticality analysis is done in order to determine the most critical equipment of the operation, with hydraulic shovels being the most important, as they directly and to a greater extent affect the levels of productivity. The hydraulic systems of these equipment are those chosen to apply this methodology, due to the higher quality and quantity of information collected, Managing to implement a program a tribology program focused on reliability to increase the average time between failures, to minimize the generation of unscheduled shutdowns , Increase productivity, lifetime of the PC4000 blades and equipment of the mining company MISKI MAYO. Since the methodology of reliability-centered tribology is mainly based on the use of fault-mode and effects analysis (FMEA), a fundamental reliability-based maintenance tool (RCM). We apply this tool to tribological processes because, through the recognition of failure modes, lubrication functions for each mode of failure, the effects of modes failure and their probability of occurrence, the tasks of Maintenance in order to counteract their effects, once these tasks are implemented, they manage to control and logically reduce the failure rate related to tribological processes by improving the reliability and productivity of the equipment.
