The present research work focuses on the housing problems of the rural population, in the Cajamarca region, according to the data obtained from the INEI, 64.60% represents the rural population of the department. Likewise, 84.50% of the population of the Utco district has a housing deficit, due to the fact that the construction practices are implemented by the community members themselves, since they were acquired from their ancestors. Likewise, the general objective of the research is to “Compare the structural response of a building with adobe reinforced with geogrid and electro-welded mesh in the District of Utco, Celendín, Cajamarca 2023. Which initially seeks to verify which of the two methods is more effective, through seismic vulnerability analysis carried out after being modeled in structural analysis software. The development began with the identification of the problem, followed by field views to identify the problem that occurs in the houses in the area, then the housing model drawn in AutoCAD was captured, followed by the modeling in ETABS v.19.0.0 and SAP2000 v.20.0.0 structural analysis software verifies the behavior of the building. Finally, the results show that the structure reinforced with electro-welded mesh presents better seismic behavior, having a better effect in reducing displacements and deformations; that is, it has managed to mitigate the seismic response and at the same time the level of seismic vulnerability.
