ABSTRACT The present study has as an objective to demonstrate the impact of the application of the Value Stream Mapping technique and other Lean Manufacturing tools in the production process of polypropylene bags in NORSAC The study starts with a theoretical framework about the tools implemented in the study, which provide the concepts needed to understand the content of the report; then a description of the company, its resources, and the products they offer to the market and production process of the type of product under consideration. It shows a production process diagnostics polypropylene bag of the company through Value Stream Mapping technique that aimed to identify waste in the process. Also, improvements were proposed to eliminate waste and it was established how must be the flow of the value stream. In the following chapters, there is the development of two Lean Manufacturing tools: the SMED and the Manufacturing Cell. In both cases, it is evaluated the impact of these tools in the company. Also, it was proposed an investment of S S/.12,236.68 nuevos soles and S/.10,243.39 nuevos soles for their implementation. Finally, it was evaluated the economic viability of the tools implementation, obtaining a NPV of S/.3,609.83 nuevos soles, a 31.70% IRR, four years of payback and a cost benefit of 1.30 for the SMED implementation; and a NPV of S/. S/.91,068.55 nuevos soles, a 330.49% IRR, a year of payback and a cost benefit of 9.89 for the Manufacturing Cell implementation.
