Introduction: Food is an issue that nowadays has become more and more important in relation to people's health because of its link with nutrition, such as problems of overweight, obesity and chronic non-communicable diseases. For this reason, many school students let their tastes and preferences lead them to choose a food without taking into consideration the nutritional contribution it provides, resulting in health problems as a consequence. Objective: To analyse the relationship between the change in nutritional knowledge and the nutritional status of students from 11 and 13 years old in the sixth grade of elementary school at the I.E.P. Amalia del Águila Velásquez. Methodology: It is a quasi-experimental cross-sectional study consisting of educational sessions that took place during 5 months of the year 2021. A validated questionnaire was used to assess knowledge. The determination of weight and height was used for the nutritional status variable. Results: The data obtained reveal that there were no outstanding differences in the comparison criteria. Although there were descriptive differences in the knowledge values, they were not statistically significant. Conclusions: No correlation was found between nutritional status and nutritional knowledge in adolescents aged 11-13 years.
