The present investigation was carried out with the purpose of designing a Physical Rehabilitation Centre for children with different capacities in the city of Trujillo, due to the fact that the city does not have centres specifically of this type; therefore, it is intended to apply Sensory Gardens, so that nature can be part of the rehabilitation of the children. Since architecture as a science is in charge of the management of the physical environment to facilitate certain functions and provoke the desired behaviour of each one of them. The methodology applied begins with the review of scientific studies and case analyses, where criteria are applied to understand the behaviour of the architectural object with sensory gardens such as horticultural gardens, contemplative gardens and restorative gardens; and how these criteria cause a positive impact on the patient's recovery through the sensation of nature within the rehabilitation centre. Finally, the design guidelines of the project are defined, which will be essential for the design of the architectural proposal. A comparison is made between technical and theoretical guidelines to determine the final guidelines that will be applied as follows: sunken gardens in areas intended for outdoor therapies with aromatic herbs to distinguish each element of the natural environment and stimulate the sense of smell.
