Abstract: RESUMEN
El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la relación del síndrome de burnout y calidad de
sueño en personal de salud de clínicas privadas de la ciudad de Trujillo, Perú. Se evaluó a 136
profesionales de salud (médicos, enfermeras, tecnólogos médicos, técnicas de enfermería,
biólogos, obstetras, estomatólogos, psicólogos, odontólogo, entre otros), de ambos sexos, cuyas
edades fluctuaron entre 23 años y 61 años. Se utilizó los siguientes cuestionarios “Inventario de
Burnout de Maslach – Human Suply Service” y el “Índice de calidad de sueño de Pittsburgh”; a partir
de los resultados obtenidos se aprecia que existe relación altamente significativa (p<0.01) entre las
variables de síndrome de burnout y calidad de sueño; confirmándose así la hipótesis general,
además se logró confirmar las hipótesis específicas, dado que se encontraron correlaciones
moderadas y baja altamente significativas entre cada una de las dimensiones del burnout y la escala
global de variable calidad de sueño y sus dimensiones (anormalidades del sueño y vigilia, y calidad
de sueño per se).

ABSTRACT The current study had as objective to analyze the relationship between burnout and sleep quality in health personnel of private clinics from Trujillo, Peru. 136 health professionals were assessed (doctors, nurses, medical technologists, nursing technicians, biologists, midwives, stomatologist, psychologists, dentists, etc), of both sexes, whose ages fluctuated between 23 years old and 61 years old. The following inventories were used “Maslach Burnout Inventory – Human Supply Service” and “Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index”. As the obtained results shown that there is highly significant relationship (p<0.01), between the variables of burnout syndrome and sleep quality; thus confirming the general hypothesis. Besides, there were confirmed the specific hypothesis, inasmuch as moderate correlations were found and highly significant declines among each of the dimensions of burnout and the global scale of sleep quality variable and its dimensions (abnormalities of sleep and wakefulness, and sleep quality per se).
