Abstract: La presente investigación se centra en la manera en que el visual merchandising contribuye en la
estrategia fast fashion de la tienda Zara de la ciudad de Lima, al tomar como hipótesis la contribución
de esta herramienta en la diferenciación e identificación de la marca, potenciando su imagen en
términos de novedad y exclusividad. Para esta investigación se realizó una encuesta, considerando
una muestra de 384 clientes de la tienda Zara en la ciudad de Lima. Además, se realizó una
entrevista a un trabajador de la tienda, con el objetivo de obtener información adicional de la
estrategia fast fashion, y de cómo la herramienta de visual mechandising contribuye a ésta.
Finalmente, se obtuvieron los siguientes resultados; en primer lugar, la correcta utilización de los elementos del visual merchandising como la iluminación, el escaparate y los maniquíes contribuye con la diferenciación e identificación de la marca, potenciando su imagen. En segundo lugar, la estrategia fast fashion del retailer Zara sigue un proceso basado en la integración de la producción
y la distribución; la “novedad” que es la principal característica del fast fashion, se ve reflejada en la
tienda con elementos como los expositores y los escaparates. En tercer lugar, el perfil del cliente
del retailer Zara de la ciudad de Lima son las personas de ambos sexos entre 18 y 45 años que
pertenecen al nivel socioeconómico AB. Por último, la tienda utiliza elementos como la distribución
en planta, los expositores, la señalización y los escaparates; además de la iluminación, la música y
el color.
This research focuses on the way in which, visual merchandising contributes to a fast fashion strategy in Zara Lima Store, taking as a hypothesis the contribution of this tool in the brand’s differentiation and identification, enhancing its image in terms of newness and uniqueness. For this research, a survey was conducted, considering a sample of 384 Zara customers in Lima city. In addition, an interview with a store worker was conducted, with the objective of obtaining additional information about fast fashion strategy, and how the visual merchandising tool contributes to this. Finally, the following results were obtained; first, the correct use of visual merchandising’s elements, such as lighting, windows and mannequins contribute to the brand’s differentiation and identification, enhancing its image. Second, the Zara’s fast fashion strategy follows a process based on the integration of production and distribution; the “newness“ that is the main characteristic of the fast fashion, is reflected in the store with elements such as displays and windows. Third, the Zara customers profile in Lima city, are people between 18 and 45 years old who belongs AB socioeconomic level. Finally, the store uses elements such as layout, displays, signage and windows; in addition to the lighting, music and color.
