In the present work of investigation a structural evaluation of damages in beams and critical columns was realized in informal houses located in the association of housing the Gramadales I stage district of Stone Bridge. With the authorization of the owners, they were able to access their homes to conduct surveys with the support of some cards, photos and ocular inspection of the structure, the owners gave us all the possible information and background of the construction methods so that the structural evaluation in the future they can be of great help to themselves. The development of the work was based on identifying the beams and columns with visible deficiencies and classifying the types of damages of each of them, complementing the structural evaluation we had the support of non-destructive experimental tests such as reinforcement scanning and sclerometry test, where we find the real characteristics of steel and concrete, such as the detection of reinforcement, steel diameter, coating and compressive strength of concrete in the structural elements analyzed. The results give us a real diagnosis of our beams and columns in homes of informal construction, for this reason it is very important to identify the causes of which were generated and how they evolved over the years, because with this information we can determine what defect in design, materials and / or construction should be corrected in order to avoid some kind of damage to our structure after a seismic request.
