This study, called “Design of an electropneumatic control system for transfer of liquid hydrocarbon PI-6 for boiler, in La Libertad region terminal plant“, proposes a substantial improvement in the operational process of the fuel transfer to feed the boiler of the plant in the La Libertad region terminal. This process is carried out in a completely manual way, there being no control in each of its phases or for each of the parameters involved, namely: flow, liquid level, temperature, among others. The proposal includes the field control requirements determination for each variable, as well as the mechanical efforts associated with the control signals that will allow performing automatically the activities that up to now, are performed manually. A prime factor for the proposal, is that all the components that will act as actuators, must have grade and classification of fireproof, due to the flammable characteristics of the fluid to be controlled. Therefore, it is that the entire proposal has been designed based on the premise that these actuators should be pneumatic, that although they are noisy systems, to develop the efforts do not need more energy than that transmitted by the compressed air. The calculated financial indicators VAN and TIR, allow to affirm that the proposal is totally feasible and necessary, given the precarious conditions in which these activities are being carried out.
